The Standard for Parenthood

For parenting, I am learning this:

The standard for parenthood is not doing everything you wish your parents did for you or giving your child experiences you wish you had. That is raising yourself all over again in your child. 

We often try and make it easy for ourselves and raise our kids as a smaller version of the parent. You must learn your particular child and raise them up based on the gifts, skills, and talents God has given them. 

The standard for parenthood is God the Father, not our parents. We are raising our kids to be like Jesus, not like us.
